First, I’d like to apologize for the title of this post. But, you’ll have to understand that I couldn’t resist.
I decided that my Friday night two weeks back would have been best spent doing something rather than staying home. After doing some searching, I saw that ROM has a Spring Friday’s event going on from March 24 – April 28. Through this, you can enjoy a discounted admission to the Museum as well as drinks and live music. Entrance begins at 5:30 and you can stay until 10pm.
I decided that this discounted admission would be the perfect chance to check out the ROM’s Blue Whale exhibit and was not disappointed.
Here’s some more information from the ROM Youtube Page about why this is such an important and exciting exhibit.
Although this exhibit is more geared towards younger individuals, I still enjoyed the interactive pieces and think that this would be a great place to take someone on a date. I decided not to take a lot of pictures from the event itself, but here’s a snippet of a very retro portion of the exhibit that I enjoyed:
There’s also the option of roaming around the other galleries in the museum as well, which I enjoyed. It’s not as crowded and you can really take the time to stroll leisurely and take things in as you please. I don’t think I’ve ever seen the museum as quiet and I really enjoyed the lack of people, which may sound weird, but it’s a nice change of pace from a museum that’s typically filled with children and large crowds.
Finally, I checked out the lounge where there was a jazz band performing, which sounded amazing, but was disappointed to see that it was only a cash bar available. So I did not enjoy any beverages, but certainly recommend it if you’re looking for somewhere low-key to hang out after walking through the museum.
